Rosemary loaned me a "learn to crochet" type book with a really siple afaghan. I think i will combine it with the border i already started.

The ladies also gave me a catalog of knitting and crocheting kits. There are 3 i love, a kitchen towel, a baby ripple afaghan and a granny Sq afaghan with matching sq and roll pillows.

Finished unpacking akk tge stuff Kris brought me. Bought some more shelves and got my living rm & craft rm finished. Yippee!

Shari and I worked on the stamping room. WOW! There si so much more room now. I need to buy a couple more shelves and clean off the corner desk and i should be back in business!

Ripped out the shawl again. Started ove rwith a longer chain. Gpt to aprox. row 8 and everything went south. Can't find the mistake. I don;t know wheter to leave it and have the gals llok it obver of rip it out again.

I started my shawl. And then ripped it out over & over again. It took me all day to get 5 rows!

Today my creative mature wnet shopping and rearranged furniture. While trying to better organize I am also trying to make it appear that i have more space than i do while also trying to make room to cram even more art stuff into the apartment.

Bought "Monet" yarn to crochet a prayer shawl.

Woohoo! I set the alarma nd actually made it over to "craft Night" in the 500 Bldg. I did two pen & ink sketches; portraits of Sharon & Joe. And then a marker sketch of a plant that was sitting on a table by the restrooms. I think it is a type of Lily. I'll label it once i know for sure.

Shari moved my baords and canveses upstairs to the studio. I went thru more stuff; sorted, tossed and seperated out stuff dor Kris to sell. Packed a bag for tomorrow.

Today i planned to draw but... "the best laid plans..." I cleaned, sorted and put away stuff from the load that Kris brought. There just isn't any more room!

I want to do a sketch of the big roses in front of the office window.

Finished the afagha. Now i have to find some crochet patterns and get more yarn.

I did a flower in 642 and started a Mac and Cheesed pic.

I did a sketch of Ivan in my purse molebk. It sure is a fry cry from the first drawing i ever did of him!

Worked on the afaghan. I can't do more than 4-5 inches before i get aweful cramps in my hands.

Went shopping @ HL. Got a mini paintbrush set & watercolor paper, some sponge stamps (they look like mushrooms) and N ll media journal.

Drew a barbell in my 642 bk. I didn't realize there was a difference between a "dumb" bell and a "bar" bell. Opps!

Worked most of the day unpacking the stuff Kris brought. OMG! I really don't know where to put stuff any more. I need/want more shelves.

Kris brought another ven load. We also went thru the stuff already made here for her craft-house.

Once again I've been cutting out odds and ends to use for altered art projects or recycled cards. Scanned some old sketch books I found from High Schoo and RCC/Ric days.

Asked Shari to be my foot model but them we got so busy with everything that I forgot all about it.

Prepared the spray bottles and purt a coat of gesso on the cover and bottom of a candy box I will decorate.

I wirked on a 2 page sketch in Pocket Doodle. I'm calling "Big Foot".It is on hold now while i go in search of a "foot". I also plan on making the overall image seem darker to fit the dark sky.

I got engrossed at home "doodleing" and once again missed craft night!

Today's 365 suggestions was "make a puzzel or make something using pieces from a puzzle". I put together a puzzle and then altered it. I did this awhil ago but i wanted to share it.

I did a page in Pocket Doodle. Added something hiding in the bushes and some ants. I love ants (in drawings!).



Scanned the last few days on work to upload to this blog and flickr.

Found a pile of tires on the web which i used as a model for a sketch in my 642 book. I didn't finish it but...it's a start! Then i did "poka dots" which looks more like circles or some stone flooring thatn poka dots to me now.

Worked on pg from "Wreck" using office supplies. Too cute! Used matt gel as an adhesive. Thought it would never dry! It didn't turn out to be as thick as i thought it would be. Maybe i need to go over it again but it seems stable enough.

I went over to 500 and worked on cards during craft time. I used that Beauty pallet and then srayed with the oil pastel fixative.

I took Pkt Doodle along as well and had a time! (The marker went thru the pg) 
I really need to go over more often. The girls seems to really care that i miss but i need something more susantial to do. I'm going to try to get someone to bring me my crochet stuff from storage. That should keep me plenty busy while over there!

I also worked on my "Doorway". I don't know why i can't stay up there long. I only have the flowers left to do and the color on the rt pot.

Whoop, whoop! I did another pg in Pkt Doodle. There is one you're suppose to give to a friend o do. It's a box of crayons so... I did the crayons as a SUp! color chart & I'll ask Todd to do the doodle the next time i see him.

I got the canvases i ordered frm Amazon.com They are so adorable! I had ordered 6x6 inches but the size just never registered with me until i saw them.

Went thru my Wreck This Journal and marked some pgs to work on. Fun days coming! I also worked in my Pocket Doodles. I think my block may have lifted! I still have work to do but.... PROGRESS!

I did a test strip of that pallet I bought at the hospital gift shop. I think it will work OK for shimmery things once sprayed with the oil pastel fixative. Dumped all my old ceramic paints and some of the "dot" paint.

I went to a Ladies Tea over in the 500 Dinning rm. The tables were decorated with a ladies high heal on a mirror. Hearts and star "confetti" was thrown on the mirror and pearls were draped over and through the open toe and held down with a lace glove. Such a simple thing but it would have never occured to me!

Got a new book!This would be a GREAT book for homeschoolers or provate school art programs as a guided art sketch book.

I did my first sketch from within the book! "Just keep sketching, just keep sketching"!

I bought myself this little "Pocket Doodles" bk at C'mas time. Please,  tell me. Why is it that everytime i pick it up i get so stressed? OMG!!










One pg - "decorate these pumpkins", I'm not sure if this is the 3rd or 4th day I've worked on it. Did i mention that the bk is 4x6 inches? I pray that by the time i finish the bk i will have gained some confidence & I've learned everythng doesn't have to be "perfect" (PLEASE let me finish the book!)

I scanned all of my ARTS 101 sketch book drawings and uploaded them to my flickr acct. There are a lot of pieces i would like to rework or incorporate into something else. I'm still trying to figure out how or what to do with them.

I also have to figure out what is up with my PS2. I sooo want to play around with the digital versions of some of my pieces.

I took these pics of dew covered plants near the bus stop. Shame on me! An old Master Gardener like me and i can't remember the name of the plants!

I have now added a small moleskin sketch book to my purse. I'm sure there is something i can draw while on the bus if only just to doodle. I am the only person i know that doesn't doodle!What does that mean? Is that a good or bad thing? I think it means that my mind isn't restless and enjoys either the break of nothingness or i enjoy the adventure of what i see out the windows!



Maybe i have enough "dew drop" pics in my gallery now to do a series of drawings called "Dew Drops"

Spent most of the AM on the city bus trying to figure it all out. Then slept thru the afternoon because i was EXHAUSTED! I am so "old".

I didn't actually paint, sketch or etc but i spent HOURS setting up a page on flickr. WOW! I uploaded tons of stuff and then realized i have tons of pics missing. I have no idea on which thumb drive, ph card or media card, etc they could possibly be so i may end up taking a bunch of new pics of older art work, especially the pieces i submitted for Exhibitions and the ones that were excepted.

Come to think of it... i did take some pics today to use as refrences for that little mini watercolor set.

Does anyone know how to get pics to post here like a contact sheet? Three pics all in one row? Anyway, I  tried a few different exposures and lights. It is amazing the differneces! These show the best color vibrancies.

Day 41 - 365 Day Challenge

We're not even going to talk about the missing days. It's enough to say, I survived! Ugh. (Seems some kind of stomach thing is going around.)

After breakfast this morning, weak as a kitten, i went in for my PT. Yea!! No weights! Then i went and walked off the muscle cramps (either breakfast or adrenaline had kicked in) and then headed for my studio. I did a bit of "redecorating" by adding these tool caddies to my drafting table. (Anyone recognise them cause i can't remember where i got them and i would like some more.)


Worked on my Doorway watercoloring. (update and add pic) I have to say that i like painting at an esael a lot more than at a table. It is awefully on my back!

Once again i ran into a point where i thought the directions should be rewritten. While i love the sketches involved with thi book, at this point, i would have to say i would not reccommend it for someone who is trying to learn from a book; a do-it-yourselfer.

I recieved a surprise in my Mailbox Muse package yesterday and i couldn't wait to tear into it! It's the cutest little kit; Floral Gallery. It contains everything you need; 4 canvases, 4 black foam boards for backing, a practice canvas, instrucion booklet, 5 watercolor pencils, a paintbrush, a pencil sharpener, ribbon and tape for making a hanger.

In concentrated bliss i made a color board mixing the differnet colors (one layer, two or more) and then adding water to see the "end" results. Now i have to decide a) if i want to use the colors provided or do my own thing b) what colors i want to do my flowers. Do i want to stay realistic or go off into imagination!

Day 40 - 365 Challenge

22 April

I think the instructions on my Doorway watercolor should be rewritten. I think
the order of some things should be changed. I painted in order of directions given but... I think after applying the wash for the brick the mortar coloring and the branch and limbs should be done BEFORE the stippling that is the leaves. Also the door wash should have been applied BEFORE the leaves in the left hand side plant.

For my own painting skills, i should have applied a lighter wash for the bricking. It is much too heavy.

After i finish this piece i think i should paint a 2nd one in the order i feel would have been better and see what difference it would make.

Thank God for the diversion. It is storming once again!
